About Us
The Story of Moonstoned Alternative
The idea for Moonstoned Alternative started coming together in January 2021 when I went shopping for my first bong. I wanted something that felt unique, easy to clean, and actually matched my style. Everything I found was either designed for the “typical stoner guy” or overly pink and cheap-looking. Nothing felt like me.
Back in grade 8, my art teacher taught us how to paint on glass, and it was a skill I kept practicing over the years as a fun hobby. So I decided to grab a plain 12” beaker bong and paint my own. The design ended up being violet tentacles surrounded by blacklight-reactive green toxic clouds, inspired by Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
I shared it online and friends immediately started asking for customs. So I bought my first small batch of glass, painted my first collection, and on April 20th, 2021, Moonstoned officially launched.
Moonstoned has since grown beyond Ottawa, with custom pieces shipped all across North America. I’ve had the chance to showcase my work at events like Niagara 420 Expo, Budtender Surprise & Delights Cannabis Events, and have been featured three times in High Moon Magazine. In 2025, Moonstoned was even nominated for Grow Up Awards’ Accessory Brand of the Year — which still blows my mind.
Thank you for being here, for supporting this artist’s dream, and for proving that cannabis accessories don't have to be boring— and that this community is way more than a stereotype.

Meet The Artist
Hi, I’m Monica — the founder and artist behind Moonstoned.
Ive been an artist all my life practicing a variety of different arts from music, to painting and even some writing.
I love bright colours cute characters and nature. I believe in magic and love listening to people's stories. My pieces are all different because the people in the cannabis community are too. I paint to show that we’re more than just a stereotype — everyone has their own story and style, and Im inspired by that through in my work.
Each piece is hand-painted with care, often inspired by playlists, movies, or whatever fits the vibe and inspires me. I’m chronically ill and neurodivergent, so creating is both my outlet and my passion. When I’m not painting, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my rescue pitbull Peanut, reading, or walking with a joint in hand.
At the heart of it, I just want to make art that people connect with — pieces that feel personal, start conversations, and remind people how creative and diverse this community really is.
